Agape Child & Family Services is a Christian-based agency serving orphaned children, homeless women and children, and at-risk communities in the Greater Memphis area.
Agape is a Christian-based ministry dedicated to providing children and families with healthy homes by sharing God’s love. Agape connects people to God’s mission by uniting children with loving families, strengthening homes and communities with intentional relationships, and linking servants to service.
They primarily focus on the following areas: orphan care (adoption and foster care), housing homeless women and their children, and youth and families living in impoverished communities. This ministry has served over 10,000 families in Memphis in 2015. Ministries include: Powerlines Community Network, Families in Transition, The Memphis Family Connection Center, and a partnership with the public school districts to support students’ educational and behavioral success.
“For over 45 years Agape has intentionally served children and families in Memphis and the Mid-South in an effort to foster and support healthy families, homes and communities. We come alongside families holistically and ask them what they need…. and what they want, and wrap services around them to help eliminate any barriers they face in maintaining strong and healthy homes in the name of Jesus.” explained David Jordan, Agape Executive Director.
Agape focuses on Christian principles in every aspect of its ministry. They carry this out in three ways: promote the spiritual growth of their clients, employees, and associates, support the work of local churches in equipping members for ministry, and empower families, churches, and communities so children are provided with healthy homes.
